Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, and directs large-scale projects and complex or strategic program implementations to meet business requirements by: oversight, coordination and planning of approved and assigned projects identified by IT Leadership and works closely with key leadership across the business functions and vendor partners to provide appropriate communication and ensure delivery of assigned projects.
  • Defines and facilitates program planning across multiple cross functional business and technology teams to bring the program end points along multiple work streams into a single timeline to meet business and customer needs
  • Manages and oversees facilitating requirements processes, defining project scope and goals; developing project plans, timelines, resource requirements, risk mitigation plans, and budgets; coordinating project activities, and stakeholder communications, and change enablement activities; and monitoring project status in order to escalate when needed.
  • Manages and oversees project activities and tasks across internal and external resources, including outsourced third parties, to ensure delivery of project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Manages the project budget in terms of human and capital/operating resources needed to successfully complete.
  • Utilizes Johnstone's Project Management methodology approach to managing and monitoring project progress, with internally supported tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Jira Software, Service Desk, Confluence).
  • Identifies and Manages project risks/escalation, issues/problems, and activity progress to ensure project goals (e.g., deadline, scope and quality) are achieved. Assists with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed.
  • Ensures stakeholders (Stores, Suppliers, internal staff, etc.) are provided with the most current, up-to-date information on project status and issues that affect them.
  • Provides regular reporting processes to monitor project results and provide status updates to Project Sponsors, IT Portfolio Management and the E-PMO.
  • Facilitates discussions with appropriate leadership to develop measurable success criteria for assigned projects
  • Leads retrospective (lessons learned) activities post project completion, for continuous improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; ten or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A current or active certification in either Agile or PMI (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP) is highly recommended for this role.

  • Strong Knowledge and experience of IT project and program management methodologies and lifecycles.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with managing projects involving ERP cloud-based platforms and the associated lifecycle
  • Demonstrated understanding of program and project management fundamentals (e.g., business case development, risk management, schedule management, and negotiation), with experience briefing Executive leadership
  • Demonstrated effective communications with business and technical teams both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business functions (Accounting, Sales, Inventory Management, Warehousing, IT) and what is needed/impact to each, to achieve project success
  • Previous experience managing complex projects or strategic programs and communication skills with stakeholders across the business, including senior leaders and successfully delivering results
  • Previous experience managing a minimum of 2 full-scale ERP Upgrades or Implementations in a complex environment (including experience managing design, test and operationalization phases).
  • Proficient at leveraging program/project management methodology and proficient at working through and with others to deliver results that meet or exceed requirements and expectations with complex projects.
  • Ability to apply project and program management skills: establishing objectives, timelines, and deadlines; action planning to meet deadlines; evaluating project status compared to objectives.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems.
  • Ability to apply organization skills: developing and using systems for organizing and keeping track of information and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and build relationships, and ability to effectively interact with third party partners and customers is required for this role.
  • Ability to communicate information across different individuals, departments, and external parties, including presenting to Leadership.
  • Ability to interface with, influence and provide excellent service to multiple levels of the organization (VPs and Senior Leadership, middle management, staff, and third-party vendors).
