Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a thriving medical clinic and ambulatory surgery center. This executive leader will be responsible for the organization’s overall strategic direction, operational excellence, financial performance, and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Working closely with the Board of Directors, physicians, and executive leadership team, the CEO will establish long‑term organizational strategies while fostering a culture centered on quality, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and service excellence. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the organization remains financially strong, operationally efficient, clinically exceptional, and well‑positioned for future growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the organization’s strategic vision, mission, and long‑term objectives. Partner with the Board of Directors to establish organizational priorities, growth initiatives, and business strategies. Identify opportunities to expand services, strengthen market presence, and develop strategic partnerships. Drive innovation and continuous improvement to meet the evolving needs of patients and the healthcare industry.
  • Operational Leadership Provide executive oversight of all clinical, operational, and administrative functions. Ensure efficient operations that support exceptional patient care, employee engagement, and organizational performance. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness and strategic progress. Optimize staffing, workflows, resource allocation, and operational processes to improve productivity and patient outcomes.
  • Financial Management Lead the organization’s financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning. Monitor financial performance and implement initiatives that promote fiscal responsibility, revenue growth, and operational sustainability. Collaborate with finance leadership to ensure sound financial practices, regulatory compliance, and effective revenue cycle management. Evaluate opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining high standards of patient care and operational excellence.
  • Clinical Quality & Regulatory Compliance Promote a culture of quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement across the organization. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare, Medicaid, and accreditation standards. Support physicians and clinical leadership in maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and clinical outcomes. Champion quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient satisfaction and operational performance.
  • Leadership & Organizational Development Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace culture built on accountability, transparency, and continuous learning. Lead, mentor, and develop executive leaders and department managers. Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives. Encourage open communication, cross‑functional collaboration, and employee engagement throughout the organization.
  • Business Development & Community Relations Serve as the organization’s primary representative with physicians, healthcare partners, community organizations, vendors, and other key stakeholders. Develop and maintain strategic relationships that strengthen the organization’s reputation and support long‑term growth. Lead negotiations with insurance carriers and other business partners. Promote a positive patient experience while enhancing the organization’s visibility within the community.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive executive leadership experience within healthcare, preferably in a medical clinic, ambulatory surgery center, physician practice, or multi‑specialty healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, operational leadership, financial management, and organizational growth.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, reimbursement models, regulatory compliance, and value‑based care initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive organizational performance.
  • Excellent financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue cycle oversight.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians, boards of directors, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care while fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience leading both a medical clinic and ambulatory surgery center.
  • Knowledge of physician practice management and healthcare business operations.
  • Experience managing organizational growth, mergers, service line expansion, or strategic partnerships.
  • Strong background in payer contracting and insurance negotiations.
  • Experience leading quality improvement, accreditation, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
