We are looking for a dedicated Operations leader to help drive ministry-wide operational excellence and the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

Position Summary

The Operations Director partners with ministry leaders to translate organizational priorities into actionable plans, establish effective operational processes, and ensure accountability, resource coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. The Operations Director monitors progress, removes barriers, and helps ensure key initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with the ministry's mission and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate is both a seasoned Operations professional and a servant leader, bringing operational expertise, strategic insight, and a heart for ministry.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Operational Alignment
  • Evaluate and prioritize ministry initiatives based on strategic importance, organizational capacity, and available resources.
  • Translate ministry priorities into actionable operational plans with clear milestones, accountability, and measurable results.
  • Align cross-functional efforts to ensure initiatives support the ministry's mission, strategic objectives, and operational goals.
  • Facilitate executive decision-making by ensuring leaders have the information, recommendations, and follow-up necessary to make timely, well-informed decisions.
Operational Execution & Initiative Leadership
  • Coordinate activities across departments, foster collaboration and assist in removing barriers that impede progress.
  • Identify operational risks, bottlenecks, competing priorities, and resource constraints; develop solutions or escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Promote operational consistency and disciplined execution while balancing changing organizational priorities.
Accountability & Performance Management
  • Establish and maintain processes that promote accountability for commitments, deliverables, and organizational priorities.
  • Develop executive dashboards, performance metrics, and status reports that provide meaningful visibility into strategic initiatives.
  • Encourage a culture of ownership, transparency, collaboration and timely follow-through across the organization.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate ministry operations and execution processes to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes, tools, and best practices that improve organizational execution and project governance.
  • Lead post-initiative evaluations to identify lessons learned and recommend operational improvements.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness and stewardship of ministry resources.
Executive & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Serve as a trusted operational partner to executive leadership, providing timely updates, recommendations, and decision support.
  • Prepare concise executive summaries highlighting initiative progress, operational risks, resource needs, and key accomplishments.
  • Foster strong working relationships throughout the ministry, building trust and collaboration across departments.
Leadership & Organizational Support
  • Promote operational excellence by proactively identifying opportunities to improve ministry effectiveness, mitigate risks, and strengthen organizational performance.
  • Ensure appropriate implementation and consistent use of ministry policies, standard operating procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to assigned staff while cultivating a culture of accountability, collaboration, service, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, project management, organizational leadership, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience leading cross-functional projects, strategic initiatives, or operational functions with a demonstrated record of successful organizational execution.
  • Three or more years of leadership experience managing staff, developing teams, and driving organizational accountability, operational improvements, and process optimization.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and facilitating organization-wide initiatives across multiple departments preferred.
