Job description

Location: Lake Geneva Area, WI
Compensation: $75,000–$80,000 base plus profit sharing
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

A destination restaurant near Lake Geneva is seeking an experienced, owner-minded Restaurant General Manager / Operating Partner to lead a complete operational rebuild.

This is not a maintenance role. The right person will take ownership of the business, build systems and training programs, lead both FOH and BOH, improve financial performance, and help shape a farm-to-table, scratch-cooking concept into a premier regional destination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all front- and back-of-house operations
  • Build SOPs, training programs, and accountability systems
  • Recruit, coach, and develop restaurant leaders
  • Improve food cost, labor, ticket times, and overall execution
  • Own budgeting, P&L, inventory, scheduling, and purchasing
  • Develop seasonal menus and support local sourcing
  • Strengthen guest experience, culture, and operational consistency
  • Partner with ownership while independently running the business

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a General Manager, Executive Chef, Chef-Operator, or similar restaurant leader
  • Experience opening, rebuilding, or turning around a restaurant
  • Strong FOH and BOH leadership experience
  • P&L, labor, food cost, and inventory management experience
  • Experience creating SOPs and training programs
  • Strong culinary background with seasonal or scratch-made menus
  • Experience in an independent restaurant, resort, country club, boutique hotel, or destination concept preferred

This role offers a base salary plus performance-based profit sharing, with potential for increased long-term upside.

The ideal candidate wants more than a management job. They want to build something, create a lasting restaurant identity, and share in the success they help produce.
