Job description

Description:

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Network Engineer to design, deploy, and sustain secure, high-performance network infrastructures supporting mission-critical systems. This role focuses on optimizing connectivity, ensuring resilience and security, and translating network performance data into scalable, mission-aligned architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, high-throughput network architectures supporting operational and mission environments
  • Administer and troubleshoot enterprise LAN environments to ensure continuous availability and performance
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize network traffic to minimize latency and maximize system efficiency
  • Capture and evaluate network performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and architectural enhancements
  • Configure and integrate front-end and back-end systems to enable reliable, end-to-end communications
  • Collaborate with engineering and mission teams on network designs, enhancements, and architectural decisions
  • Convert operational performance data into actionable technical requirements and system improvements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or 10 years of hands-on Network Engineering experience in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, and maintaining secure network environments
  • Proficiency with network performance monitoring, analysis, and optimization tools
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems for reliability and speed
  • IAT Level I certification compliant with DoD 8570.01-M requirements

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting classified, high-availability, or mission-critical environments
  • Familiarity with enterprise-scale network architectures and secure communications frameworks
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
  • Clear documentation skills and strong technical communication abilities
  • A strong interest in advancing network performance, security, and resilience
