This individual will be ultimately responsible for high-level execution, financial performance, risk management, and customer satisfaction for one or multiple complex MEP projects. The role requires a hands-on leader who can manage key projects, bring in new work through client relationships, and mentor junior Project Managers and Sales Managers on best-in-class project delivery.
Projects will span commercial, institutional, industrial, and specialty/technical facilities, including new construction, design-build, renovations, and complex retrofit work.
Core Responsibilities
Project & Operational Leadership
  • Provide executive oversight and accountability for the execution, financial performance, and delivery of complex electrical and mechanical projects.
  • Maintain full, hands-on knowledge of project scope, requirements, schedules, budgets, and deliverables at all times.
  • Lead project controls including cost management, forecasting, change management, billing, collections, and monthly status reporting.
  • Ensure projects meet contractual obligations, quality standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for project risks, scope issues, and execution challenges.
  • Hold full accountability for project completion, profitability, risk mitigation, and client satisfaction.

Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead and manage project teams including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Coordinators, and field leadership.
  • Mentor, develop, and train junior Project Managers and Sales Managers on how to properly run and sell projects.
  • Set execution standards and reinforce disciplined project management practices across the organization.
  • Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, communication, and execution rigor.
  • Support staffing decisions, performance management, and team development in partnership with leadership.

Business Development & Client Engagement
  • Actively participate in business development efforts, leveraging an established network to bring in new electrical and mechanical work.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, and facility stakeholders.
  • Support contract negotiations, scope alignment, risk review, and insurance requirements.
  • Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams during pursuits, pricing reviews, and design-build engagements.
  • Serve as a key point of contact with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.

Regional & Organizational Leadership
  • Participate in regional operations, staffing strategy, business planning, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support preconstruction efforts and help align sales commitments with execution realities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery systems, controls, and standards.

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in commercial MEP construction, with progressive responsibility at the Project Manager or Project Executive level.
  • Strong background in electrical and/or mechanical construction, with exposure to complex, multi-discipline projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects and multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Proven success mentoring and developing project and sales professionals.
  • Deep understanding of construction contracts, cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems and MEP construction processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management, cost control, and scheduling software (e.g., Prolog, CMIC, Primavera, or similar platforms).
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership presence, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
