About The Opportunity

Responsible for ensuring all of operations is running safely, efficiently and is cost effective. The position oversees the daily production operations and other assigned areas, monitors operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met/followed, develops production schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers, and oversees production staff, including hiring/training of personnel.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides leadership required for all assigned departments, assuring company objectives in the areas of cost, customer service, quality, profitability, and employee wee-being are met
  • Monitors and assists in the region of safety efforts to assure a safe environment, while adhering to the guidelines, established by OSHA and Menasha
  • Analyzes current department practices, procedures, and plans to determine if there is a better way to accomplish, taking into consideration, such areas as employee well-being profitability, OSHA guidelines, customer expectations, and the Menasha Packaging Strategy
  • Oversees a program of quality control, machine performance expectations, material specification, material specification compliance and customer acceptable finished goods
  • Communicates, on a frequent basis, with peers and their work teams so open communications lines remain between individual groups as well as between subordinates in these groups. Includes participation in any related production, customer complaints, etc. meetings
  • Establishes reports and reporting structures needed to effectively meet expectations
  • Evaluates need for additional equipment and recommends equipment for purchase. Includes the preparation of capital expenditure justifications
  • Prepares and manages the financial plan and actual expenses associated with areas of responsibility
  • Ensures overall maintenance of facilities, grounds, utilities and equipment
  • Develops and monitors long-term plan to assure Menasha Packaging Strategy is communicating to responsible areas so that clear, definite goals and objectives are moving forward. Includes a continual program for the improvement of production facilities to lower cost and improve quality of product produced while entertaining new business opportunities. Is instrumental in implementing Lean Concepts throughout the operations to reduce waste and increase efficiencies
  • Establishes and maintains an efficient organizational structure by selecting, training, mentoring and appraising employees using the Total Management System. Includes, at time, the delegation and reassignment of duties
  • Oversees machine performance expectations, material specification compliance, and operational housekeeping/cleanliness and customer acceptable finished goods. Responsible for managing and reporting status on the Operations Scorecard
  • Communicates in an encouraging and motivating manner, on a frequent basis, with direct reports their work teams so open communication lines remain between individual groups as well as between subordinates in these groups. Participates in any related production, customer complaint, meetings
  • Performs all other duties as requested
  • Works safely, following and complying with Company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), and maintaining quality work and product

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Minimum 10 years of management experience within the manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of working in operations for packaging Industry
  • Thorough knowledge of FDA guidelines

  • Should have an extensive knowledge of the corrugated and/or packaging industry. Solid financial knowledge, productions management and warehouse inventory control experience.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting with time also spent in an office setting
  • Frequent walking and standing required

The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 annually. Compensation for this role will vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short- and Long-term disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.
