The Role: 

IonQ is seeking a highly motivated Sales Executive to drive revenue growth within cybersecurity-focused accounts in SLED. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing opportunities where IonQ's quantum technologies intersect with security, encryption, and next-generation risk mitigation strategies.

You will work closely with technical teams, product specialists, and executive stakeholders to position IonQ's solutions as critical components in the future of secure computing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting security-focused enterprise and commercial organizations
  • Identify opportunities related to quantum-safe encryption, cybersecurity resilience, and post-quantum readiness
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with CIOs, CISOs, IT leaders, and executive decision-makers
  • Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, solution positioning, negotiation, and closing
  • Collaborate with core sales, engineering, & technical teams to tailor solutions that align with customer security needs
  • Educate customers on the impact of quantum computing on cybersecurity and encryption
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using CRM tools
  • Represent IonQ at industry events, conferences, and client engagements

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of enterprise sales experience, preferably in cybersecurity or advanced technology sectors
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas in complex, consultative sales environments
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts (encryption, threat landscapes, compliance frameworks)
  • Experience selling to large enterprises or government agencies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to operate in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders internally and externally
  • Strategic thinking and solution-oriented selling
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management
  • Self-starter with high accountability and ownership mindset

Preferred Qualifications:
