A well-established and growing organization is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead all accounting operations and help build a scalable finance function. This is a unique opportunity to step into the top accounting role, oversee the day-to-day financial operations, and make a meaningful impact on a growing business.


Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Controller will oversee a team of 3–4 accounting professionals responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing. This individual will own the company's accounting function, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both strategic leadership and hands-on accounting. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, process improvement experience, and advanced NetSuite knowledge. 


Key Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
• Manage and mentor a team of 3–4 employees across AP, AR, and Billing
• Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Develop and improve accounting processes, policies, and internal controls
• Oversee cash management, banking activity, and payroll accounting
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
• Partner with executive leadership by providing financial analysis and operational insights
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancements 


Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
• Strong, hands-on experience with NetSuite is required
• Proven experience managing month-end close and financial reporting
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Experience supervising accounting teams
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
• Experience in insurance, healthcare, benefits administration, or another service-based industry is a plus
