Job description

Jennie Joiner with Forum Group PNW is partnering with a respected, mission-driven healthcare organization in Southern Oregon to identify their next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible executive leadership role within a growing multi-site healthcare organization serving communities across the region. The organization has multiple locations throughout southern Oregon and continues to expand its impact while strengthening financial strategy, operational accountability, and long-term sustainability. This is not a traditional “behind-the-scenes” CFO role. The organization is seeking a strategic business partner and proactive leader who can help shape organizational direction, guide executive decision-making, and build strong systems, teams, and accountability across finance operations.

Position Overview

The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with the CEO, Board, and operational leaders to provide financial oversight, strategic forecasting, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring both strong healthcare finance expertise and the leadership presence needed to influence decisions, communicate clearly, and lead through change in a collaborative and mission-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, compliance, and financial planning
  • Partner with executive leadership and the Board to support strategic growth and organizational sustainability
  • Oversee financial reporting, audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Guide revenue cycle oversight, cash flow management, and reimbursement strategy
  • Develop executive dashboards, financial models, and forecasting tools to support operational decisions
  • Strengthen accountability, structure, and partnership across finance, billing, and operations
  • Lead and mentor accounting and finance teams, including direct and indirect reports
  • Oversee grant reporting, federal compliance, procurement policies, and financial governance
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies across the finance function

What They're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
  • Experience within healthcare finance required, preferably within an FQHC or nonprofit healthcare environment
  • Prior executive-level leadership experience such as CFO, VP of Finance, Director of Finance, or healthcare Controller
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, reimbursement models, and financial strategy
  • Board presentation and executive leadership experience
  • Ability to lead teams with accountability, transparency, and strong communication
  • Strategic thinker who can anticipate challenges, identify trends, and proactively guide decision-making

Technology

  • MIP
  • Adaptive
  • Power BI
  • Advanced Excel

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $146,200 – $190,000 with long-term growth opportunity beyond that range
  • Strong benefits package
  • Annual market salary reviews and potential merit increases
  • Stable leadership team and collaborative culture

Culture & Leadership

The organization values leaders who are mission-driven, emotionally intelligent, and comfortable balancing strategy with accountability. They are seeking someone who values meaningful work and community impact just as much as financial performance. Someone motivated by both the professional opportunity and the “heart paycheck” that comes from serving a purpose-driven organization.

If you're a healthcare finance leader looking for an opportunity to truly influence organizational direction while making a meaningful impact in the community, we would love to connect. Reach out to Jennie Joiner to find out more or apply on line today!
