What is an executive in?

Executive In positions refer to high-level roles within an organization, such as Executive Director, Executive Vice President, or similar titles. These roles typically involve overseeing major departments or functions, making strategic decisions, and leading teams to achieve organizational goals. Executives are responsible for setting the vision, managing resources, and ensuring that the company meets its objectives. Their work often includes collaborating with other leaders, representing the organization externally, and driving innovation and growth.

What are some common challenges faced by executive assistants when supporting multiple executives, and how can these be managed effectively?

Executive Assistants often support more than one executive, which can create challenges such as managing conflicting priorities, coordinating multiple calendars, and handling a high volume of communications. To manage these effectively, strong organizational skills, proactive communication, and the ability to anticipate executives' needs are essential. Many successful Executive Assistants rely on digital tools for scheduling and task management, set clear expectations with each executive, and practice regular check-ins to stay aligned with shifting priorities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive assistant, and why are they important?

To excel as an Executive Assistant, you need exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in office administration, typically supported by a relevant degree or experience. Familiarity with scheduling software, Microsoft Office Suite, and communication tools like Zoom or Slack is crucial. Outstanding interpersonal skills, discretion, and adaptability help build trust and manage high-pressure situations effectively. These abilities are vital for ensuring seamless executive support, efficient operations, and maintaining confidentiality in fast-paced business environments.

Job description

Morgan Hunter is partnering with a respected Kansas City-area organization to find an experienced Executive Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-trust environment and takes pride in making senior leadership more effective.

This is an opportunity for a polished, proactive professional to become a trusted partner to the CEO and executive team. You’ll play an important role in keeping schedules, travel, meetings, communications, and executive priorities running smoothly—while working with leaders who value discretion, organization, and exceptional follow-through.

If you’re someone who can anticipate needs, stay calm when priorities shift, and handle confidential information with professionalism, this could be an excellent next step in your career.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a trusted administrative partner to the CEO, while providing support to other members of the executive team
  • Own complex commercial and private executive travel, including itineraries, transportation, accommodations, and last-minute changes
  • Manage dynamic calendars, meetings, appointments, and competing priorities
  • Prepare and process expense reports while maintaining accurate, well-organized documentation
  • Monitor executive communications and assist with professional correspondence and follow-up
  • Coordinate company event tickets and maintain accurate tracking and usage records
  • Help plan and execute company meetings, leadership gatherings, holiday events, and other special functions
  • Step in to provide occasional front desk and general administrative support when needed
  • Anticipate executive needs, identify potential issues before they arise, and keep priorities moving without constant direction

What Makes You a Great Fit

We’re looking for an experienced Executive Assistant who brings judgment, initiative, polish, and exceptional attention to detail.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Assistant, Senior Administrative Assistant, or similar high-level support role
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex executive travel and logistics
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to confidently juggle multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of professionalism, discretion, and comfort working with confidential information
  • The ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and exercise sound judgment
  • A calm, solutions-oriented approach when plans change or priorities shift
  • Comfort working directly with senior leaders and meeting high expectations
  • Concur experience is a plus

Why This Opportunity

  • This is more than a traditional administrative position. It’s a chance to become a trusted partner to executive leadership, have meaningful visibility across the organization, and bring your expertise to a role where organization, judgment, and initiative genuinely matter.
