Job description

Overview
The HSE Operations Manager is responsible for managing the portfolio of HSE programs, tools and policies for Lutron, supporting overall regulatory HSE compliance, and enabling local HSE site leaders with their day-to-day responsibilities. This role provides support for the global Lutron organization.
This individual contributor ensures that the global Lutron organization is supported through robust, capable processes and systems (technical and organizational) to create and deliver a safe work experience for all Lutron employees, contractors, and visitors every day.
The portfolio of HSE programs include policies and procedures, tools for injury/incident management, walk-arounds and audits, investigations, ergonomic assessments, project management, performance dashboards, and more.
As a part of the corporate HSE team, the HSE Operations Manager will report to the Global HSE Director and collaborate closely with global HSE Facilities.
Responsibilities
Develops and maintains HSE programs, policies, and processes in concert with regulations requirements and changes
  • Develops and implements safety policies and procedures, including identifying risks and providing training to employees on how to handle hazardous materials or situations
  • Monitors global HSE regulatory changes to determine impact to Lutron and develop process and procedure modifications as required
  • Manages the portfolio of all HSE policies & procedures
  • Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on HSE regulations and company standards and ensure that systems effectively support program compliance.

Development, management and deployment of tools, dashboards and reporting
  • Develop and improve frameworks and content for organizational HSE management systems including executive reports and site-specific dashboards
  • Design and deploy regular user feedback to optimize the value of HSE systems
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE systems and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes, improve overall program success, and drive continuous Improvement
  • Act as liaison with vendors, consultants, and other representatives to identify and optimize appropriate, effective and cost-proportionate solutions for HSE challenges
  • Benchmark Lutron HSE systems to industry standards and emerging technologies for on-going optimization and future readiness

Development, delivery and tracking of training content to enable HSE leader and employees and meet Lutron HSE standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and translate subject matter expertise into accessible and engaging system tools, including learning curricula
  • Distill written procedures into concise, clear self-learning tools
  • Enable cross-functional and cross-site sharing of HSE best practices
  • Develop and maintain training delivery and record keeping required for compliance and corporate HSE expectations
  • Develop and improve content, platforms, and materials for HSE communications

Qualifications
  • BS in environmental, health, safety, chemical or environmental engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience serving as an HSE technical resource, HSE program specialist, or HSE program manager
  • Professional certifications as ASP, CSP or CIH (Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist) a plus
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulatory landscape
  • Ability to analyze complex regulatory requirements and develop programs, procedures, and processes appropriate for the level of risk in the manufacturing and office facilities
  • Hands-on experience with OSHA Injury Recording annual filing
  • Familiarity with ISO and other internationally recognized management system frameworks
  • Experience with safe work practices, including incident management, corrective action management, hazard identification, root cause analysis, and risk analysis
  • Willingness to travel to multiple manufacturing and office locations - 10-15% domestic and international travel is required

Computer Skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Experience with Ideagen/ProcessMaps or similar HSE program management tool is a plus
  • Proficiency in optimizing cloud-based and other systems, tools, etc.
  • Experience with learning content creation tool
