Executive Game Developer information

What is an executive game developer?

Executive Game Developers are senior leaders in the video game industry who oversee the development and production of video games at a strategic level. They are responsible for setting the vision, managing large teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Executive Game Developers often collaborate with other departments such as marketing, finance, and design to ensure the game's success. Their role combines creative leadership with business management and industry expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive game developer?

To thrive as an Executive Game Developer, you need extensive experience in game design, project management, and a deep understanding of the gaming industry, often supported by a degree in computer science, game development, or a related field. Familiarity with game engines (such as Unity or Unreal Engine), project management tools, and production pipelines is typically required. Leadership, creative vision, and strong communication skills set exceptional candidates apart by enabling them to guide teams and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills are crucial for delivering innovative, high-quality games on time and within budget while steering the overall strategic direction of projects.

How does an executive game developer typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a game's development cycle?

An Executive Game Developer works closely with cross-functional teams such as design, engineering, art, marketing, and production to ensure alignment with the project's vision and goals. They often facilitate communication between departments, resolve conflicts, and make high-level decisions to keep the project on track. This role requires balancing creative direction with business objectives, coordinating milestone reviews, and providing strategic guidance to team leads. Collaboration is key, as they must inspire and motivate diverse teams while ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met.

Job description

Account Executive – Sports Hub

Turn game day into an experience.

Uniguest Sports Hub - Connected Stadium & Campus-wide Digital Signage & IPTV Solutions

Uniguest is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Account Executive to help expand our presence across professional and collegiate sports.

We’re already in the game. Our technology helps sports venues deliver engaging digital experiences through IPTV, digital signage, content management, and fan engagement solutions. We are adding to the team and looking for a proven hunter who can build on that foundation by opening new doors, developing meaningful relationships, and helping teams and venues create better experiences for their fans.

This is an opportunity for someone who understands that selling into sports isn’t transactional. It’s about relationships, timing, navigating multiple stakeholders, understanding complex venue environments, and bringing together the right solutions for each organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive new business across professional sports organizations, collegiate athletics, arenas, stadiums, and sports venues
  • Build and develop a strong pipeline through strategic prospecting, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and events
  • Expand Uniguest’s existing footprint within the sports market
  • Sell a broad portfolio of solutions, including IPTV, digital signage, content management, and fan engagement technologies
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across technology, operations, venue management, marketing, sponsorship, and executive leadership
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial conversation through close
  • Partner with internal product, technical, sales engineering, and implementation teams to develop solutions that address each customer’s unique environment
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships by connecting customers with additional products and capabilities across the Uniguest portfolio
  • Stay connected to the sports technology landscape and understand the evolving expectations of teams, venues, and their fans

What You Bring

  • Proven success selling technology solutions into professional sports, collegiate athletics, stadiums, arenas, or similar complex environments
  • Experience with IPTV, digital signage, Pro AV, venue technology, fan engagement, or related solutions
  • An established understanding of how decisions are made within sports organizations and venues
  • Experience managing complex sales involving multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles
  • A strong network and the ability to build trusted relationships across the industry
  • A consultative approach, understanding the customer’s environment and bringing multiple solutions together rather than selling a single product
  • Strong prospecting and business development skills with a genuine hunter mentality
  • The ability to balance strategic relationship building with the urgency and accountability required to close business

What's In It for You

Uniguest already has a presence in the sports market, and this role is about building on that momentum and accelerating our growth.

You’ll have the opportunity to represent a broad technology portfolio rather than a single point solution, helping venues think bigger about how they communicate, entertain, inform, and engage with fans throughout the game-day experience. If you are ready to build on momentum and accelerate growth, let's talk!
