Role Overview:

Trellix is seeking a high-caliber Senior Sales Engineer to join our Canadian team in Ottawa. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical resource for our sales team, driving the "technical win" across commercial, enterprise, and public sector accounts. You will be a trusted advisor to our customers, translating complex cybersecurity requirements into robust, architected solutions that protect their most critical assets.

About This Job

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you own the technical lifecycle of the sales process. You aren't just demonstrating software; you are architecting resilience.

  • Solution Leadership: Lead technical discovery sessions, qualify customer requirements, and develop sophisticated use cases tailored to business constraints.

  • Proposal & RFP Excellence: Own the technical response for RFIs and RFPs, orchestrating virtual teams to deliver comprehensive, consultative, and winning bids.

  • Proof of Value (POV): Lead and manage POVs from initial engagement through to successful completion, ensuring the customer sees tangible value and competitive differentiation.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Regional Sales Directors and SE Managers to refine sales strategies, build a healthy pipeline, and establish best practices for the region.

  • Technical Account Management: Maintain a proactive relationship with target accounts, monitoring customer health, expanding our footprint, and managing competitive displacements.

  • Enablement & Mentorship: Act as a mentor for junior SEs, provide critical feedback to Product Management, and support customer beta programs and executive briefing events.

About You

You possess a rare blend of deep technical expertise and the sophisticated communication skills required to influence executive stakeholders. You navigate the bridge between deep-dive security architecture and executive-level business outcomes with ease.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Professional fluency in both English and French is required to support our diverse Canadian client base.

  • Residency: You must currently reside in Canada.

  • Experience: 3+ years of proven cybersecurity experience in a pre-sales or high-level consulting capacity.

Technical & Professional Skills:

  • Public Sector Savvy: Deep experience working with Canadian Government entities and a strong understanding of their unique procurement and security standards.

  • Product Expertise: Significant familiarity with McAfee/FireEye (Trellix) ecosystems is highly preferred.

  • Specialization: Expert-level knowledge in at least one of the following: Cloud/Virtualization security, Data Protection, Network Security (Web Proxy/SD-WAN), or Workload/Container security.

  • Certified Professional: You hold industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CEH, AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • The "Consultative" Edge: You don't just answer questions; you ask the right ones. You have a track record of building deep trust with stakeholders from the SOC analyst to the CISO.
