Job description

The Role

The Senior Director, Product Marketing & Brand will define and scale Gametime's demand-side narrative - shaping what the brand means, who it's for, and how it drives growth.

Today, Gametime has strong brand equity with a core audience of deal-seeking, last-minute sports fans. The opportunity ahead is significantly larger. This role will lead the evolution of Gametime into a broader, culturally relevant platform for live experiences across sports, concerts, and beyond.

This is both a strategic and operational leadership role, responsible for connecting positioning, audience understanding, and go-to-market execution to expand Gametime into new audiences and categories.

You will partner closely with Growth, Creative, Product, and Data teams to ensure brand is not a support function, but a core driver of acquisition, engagement, and revenue.

This is a player-coach role. You will define the strategy and do the work - building the foundations of Product Marketing and Consumer Insights while driving immediate business impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and Lead Brand Strategy: Own Gametime's positioning - clearly articulating what makes the brand different and how it evolves beyond its core use case. Build a narrative that scales across audiences without fragmenting the brand.
  • Audience Expansion: Identify and prioritize new customer segments and use cases. Develop segmentation frameworks that influence product, marketing, and company strategy, and unlock growth in new categories.
  • Build Product Marketing (01): Stand up the Product Marketing function. Own messaging frameworks, competitive positioning, and go-to-market strategy to ensure product innovation translates into customer adoption.
  • Consumer Insights & Research: Develop a structured understanding of customer behavior, motivations, and perception. Build lightweight but effective research and brand tracking systems that inform decisions across the business.
  • Brand as a Growth Lever: Partner with Growth to connect brand investment to acquisition, conversion, and retention. Define how brand drives measurable business outcomes, not just awareness.
  • AI-Forward Approach: Leverage AI-driven tools and methodologies to accelerate insight generation, creative development, and go-to-market execution. Explore how AI can improve relevance, speed, and efficiency across the brand and marketing ecosystem.
  • Experimentation & Innovation: Build and scale a structured approach to testing positioning, messaging, and audience strategies. Use data and experimentation to continuously refine how Gametime shows up in the market.
  • Measurement & Insights: Partner with Data and Analytics to develop frameworks that connect brand investment to business impact, including brand tracking, attribution, and incrementality testing.
  • Team Development: Build and lead a small, high-performing team. Foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and execution excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Align Product, Growth, Creative, and Executive stakeholders around a unified narrative and strategy. Ensure consistency across all customer touchpoints.
Key Skills
  • Strong brand strategy and positioning expertise, with the ability to define and evolve narratives that drive business impact
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior, segmentation, and audience expansion strategies
  • Experience building or scaling Product Marketing functions and go-to-market systems
  • Ability to connect brand strategy to measurable growth outcomes (acquisition, conversion, retention)
  • Strategic mindset with strong execution capability - comfortable operating as a player-coach
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Growth, Creative, and Data teams
  • Strong analytical fluency and comfort using data to inform decisions and measure impact
  • Curiosity and practical application of AI tools to improve marketing effectiveness and speed
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to align teams and influence leadership
Requirements
  • 10-14 years of experience across brand, consumer marketing, product marketing, or related disciplines
  • Proven track record of expanding a brand into new audiences, categories, or use cases
  • Experience in consumer marketplaces, high-growth consumer platforms, or DTC environments preferred
  • Demonstrated ownership of positioning and go-to-market strategy, not just campaign execution
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with limited resources
  • Prior experience building or scaling functions (PMM, insights, or similar) is highly preferred

What We Can Offer

  • Flexible PTO
  • Competitive salary & equity package
  • Monthly Gametime credits for any event ($1,200/yr)
  • Medical, dental, & vision insurance
  • Life insurance and disability benefits
  • Diverse Family-forming benefits through Carrot Fertility
  • 401k, HSA, pre-tax savings programs
  • Company off-sites and meet-ups
  • Wellness programs
  • Tenure recognition
