Director of Facility Services
Job Description
The Director of Facility Services is responsible for coordinating a variety of operational and support service functions for Cleveland Community College. This position provides oversight and coordination of college fleet management, facility and space scheduling, campus event support, and facilities data management. The coordinator serves as a central point of contact for internal departments and external organizations regarding the use of campus resources and facilities while ensuring compliance with institutional and North Carolina Community College System standards. The position also assists in maintaining the safety, functionality, and efficiency of campus facilities and operations through routine inspections and reporting.
Essential Duties Summary
Fleet and Vehicle Management
  • Coordinate and manage the use, scheduling and maintenance records of all college-owned vehicles.
  • Manage reservations, assignments, and utilization of college-owned vans and other fleet vehicles.
  • Maintain vehicle usage logs, inspection records, insurance documentation, and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with college policies and procedures regarding vehicle operation and driver eligibility.
  • Coordinate with maintenance providers and departments to address vehicle service and repair needs.

Facility and Space Scheduling
  • Oversee scheduling and reservation of campus facilities, rooms, and spaces for internal and external customers.
  • Serve as a liaison with departments, community groups, and external organizations regarding space availability and event logistics.
  • Ensure facility reservations comply with institutional policies, procedures, and operational requirements.

DAVE Program Coordination
  • Coordinate the DAVE program for the college in accordance with standards established by the North Carolina Community College System.
  • Maintain accurate records related to building characteristics, room usage, and facilities data.
  • Assist with reporting and updates required for state and institutional compliance.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to verify and maintain accurate facilities information.

Event Coordination and Campus Support
  • Assist with coordinating special events taking place on campus in collaboration with sponsoring departments.
  • Coordinate operational support services related to campus events, including facility setup and scheduling needs.
  • Communicate with departments and external groups to ensure successful execution of events and activities.

Facilities and Grounds Inspections
  • Conduct routine inspections of campus facilities and grounds to identify maintenance, safety, or operational deficiencies.
  • Document and report deficiencies, concerns, and corrective action needs to appropriate departments or supervisors.
  • Assist in monitoring follow-up and resolution of identified issues.
  • Coordinate with purchasing for dealing with disposal or sale of college owned property.

General Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.
