Director, Office of Legislative Information Technology

Augusta, Maine

The Maine Legislature is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of the Office of Legislative Information Technology.  This is a full-time, nonpartisan, senior management position with responsibility for directing one of several nonpartisan staff offices that work under the overall direction of the Executive Director of the Legislative Council to provide staff support to the Legislature. Weekend and evening work are required during the legislative session and depending on legislative or other operational needs.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of a wide range of professional and technical services, including but not limited to information technology architecture; software development; database administration; data backup; data security; network and cyber security, as well as strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with experience in managing an information technology team. Project management experience is preferred.

Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree in computer science or information technology management or equivalent and at least five years of progressive information technology management experience is highly desired. An advanced degree in related field, with extensive, relevant managerial experience in information technology may be substituted, or an equivalent combination of education and related management experience.  Strong management and communication skills are essential.

Salary and benefits. Salary ranges from $119,704 to $173,139. The bi-weekly dollar values of some State-paid benefits for full-time employees include $15.22 for dental insurance; 14.06% of employee's pay towards retirement; and, depending on the employee's annual pay, at least 85% ($508.90) of health insurance premiums.
