Job description

Overview

A Senior Assisted Living Community in Metro Detroit/Oakland County is looking for a Full-Time Executive Director. Experience in senior living facilities and a passion for working with seniors is preferred. A bonus structure is available based on census growth.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the general health and performance of the community
  • Maintain a positive attitude and support the community mission statement
  • Monitor the operations of the community with a focus on resident and family satisfaction
  • Provide support to the management team and assist with positive results
  • Ensure all community open job positions are filled in a timely manner
  • Conduct interviews and oversee the completion of new hire paperwork, background checks and reference checks
  • Oversee scheduling of employees and maintain appropriate staffing numbers based on occupancy
  • Update and maintain policies and procedures, reporting requirements, housing rules, and weather safety
  • Assist in invoicing residents monthly and follow through with overdue balances and resolution of overdue invoices and communication to the CFO
  • Maintain a good working relationship with families, residents, and medical professionals
  • Market to prospective outlets (e.g., SNFs, doctors) and develop strong relationships with the community on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the facility; repairs, budget, etc.
  • Other responsibilities as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or comparable experience is required
  • At least 2 years of senior living/assisted living operations and/or management experience is required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to motivate and grow the professional staff, be a competent administrator of policies and procedures and have the willingness and skills to monitor and control the activities assigned
  • Ability to maintain positive and professional interactions with residents and families at all times
  • Exemplary computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel; Payroll and Timekeeping systems, Scheduling Software, etc.
