Job description

Executive Chef Compensation

Management Training Program (First 30 Days)

All Executive Chef candidates are required to successfully complete Shawarma Guys' mandatory 30-Day Management Training Program before becoming eligible for promotion into the Executive Chef position.

During the training period, candidates will be employed as an Hourly Kitchen Manager and will receive:

  • $25.00 per hour
  • Participation in the restaurant tip pool, when applicable
  • Paid management training
  • Weekly coaching and performance evaluations
  • Leadership development from Ownership and Operations

Upon successful completion of the Management Training Program, candidates who demonstrate readiness to independently operate the South Park Food Truck will be promoted to:

  • Executive Chef
  • $80,000 Annual Salary
  • Eligibility for the Executive Chef Performance Bonus Opportunity

About This Opportunity

This position is based at our original South Park Food Truck, the location that launched Shawarma Guys and helped build our nationally recognized brand.

Unlike a traditional restaurant, our food truck operates in a compact, high-volume kitchen where organization, efficiency, cleanliness, and communication are absolutely essential. Every square foot matters, and every team member must be able to work with urgency while maintaining exceptional food quality and consistency.

We are specifically looking for a leader who:

  • Thrives in a smaller, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Is extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Can prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Maintains a clean and efficient workstation at all times
  • Leads by example through professionalism and accountability
  • Excels under pressure without sacrificing quality
  • Communicates clearly with both Front of House and Back of House teams
  • Takes ownership of the operation and continuously looks for ways to improve efficiency

This is not a position for someone who prefers a slow-paced or highly structured corporate kitchen. Success in this role requires adaptability, strong leadership, excellent organization, and the ability to maximize productivity in a limited workspace while serving hundreds of guests each day.

Training, Development & Promotion

At Shawarma Guys, leadership positions are earned through demonstrated performance—not simply previous experience.

All Executive Chef candidates begin employment in a structured 30-Day Management Training Program designed to ensure complete mastery of our operational standards before promotion into the Executive Chef role.

The training program provides hands-on experience while allowing Ownership and Operations to evaluate each candidate's leadership ability, operational execution, consistency, professionalism, accountability, decision-making, and overall readiness to independently operate one of Shawarma Guys' highest-volume locations.

During the Management Training Program, candidates must successfully demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the operation, including but not limited to:

  • Complete opening and closing procedures
  • Daily kitchen operations
  • Shawarma preparation and execution
  • Food production and quality control
  • Inventory management
  • Vendor ordering
  • Labor management
  • Employee scheduling
  • Coaching, accountability, and performance management
  • Catering preparation and execution
  • Food safety and sanitation compliance
  • Health Department compliance
  • Cleanliness and organization
  • Cost control
  • Technology systems and operational reporting
  • Leadership, communication, and conflict resolution
  • Independent decision-making

Promotion is not automatic after thirty (30) calendar days.

Promotion occurs only after Ownership and Operations determine the candidate has consistently demonstrated the ability to independently operate the South Park Food Truck while meeting Shawarma Guys' operational, financial, leadership, food quality, and guest service standards.

If additional development is necessary, Shawarma Guys reserves the right to extend the Management Training Program until all required performance expectations have been successfully achieved.

Compensation After Successful Completion of Training

Upon successful completion of the required Management Training Program and official promotion into the Executive Chef position, the employee will:

  • Transition from Hourly Kitchen Manager to Executive Chef
  • Receive an annual salary of $80,000
  • Become eligible to participate in the Executive Chef Performance Bonus Opportunity
  • Become eligible for all Executive Chef compensation and benefits offered by Shawarma Guys

The Executive Chef salary becomes effective only after Ownership and Operations formally approve promotion into the Executive Chef position.

Executive Chef Performance Bonus Opportunity

Eligibility for the Executive Chef Performance Bonus Opportunity begins only after:

  • Successful completion of the mandatory Management Training Program
  • Official promotion into the Executive Chef position
  • Acceptance of the Executive Chef salaried position

The complete Executive Chef Performance Bonus Plan—including qualification requirements, performance metrics, payout schedule, and eligibility criteria—will be provided upon successful completion of training and promotion.

Participation in the bonus program is performance-based, discretionary, subject to company review, and is never guaranteed.

Shawarma Guys reserves the right to modify, suspend, revise, or discontinue the bonus program at any time in accordance with company policy.
