General DescriptionThe County Administration Executive Assistant plays a key role in high-level initiatives, cross-departmental coordination, and executive operations. This position has direct involvement in priority Lake County initiatives and strategic projects; is a front-row seat to government innovation and executive decision-making; and entails collaboration with executive leadership, elected officials, and community partners. Depending on your goals, this position is a potential launching point for career advancement within County Administration and related departments.
- Hourly Grade 8, 40 hours per week, hiring range: $32.04 - $39.24/hour ($66,643 - $81,619).
- Hours of work, generally 8:30 am - 5 pm, though assistance outside of those hours may sometimes be required.
- Work performed primarily at 18 N. County Street, but remote work may be possible on rare occasions after an introductory period.
Essential Functions- Administrative support for the County Administrator's Office, Communications Division, and the Emergency Management Division.
- Interacting with departments, outside agencies, and business partners regarding documentation, meetings, projects, and protocols.
- Formatting and maintaining master files, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and supporting Countywide systems.
- Serving as Human Resources Liaison and supporting payroll, onboarding, invoices, reimbursements, and credit card reconciliation.
- Coordinating with the information technology department for the office's technology.
- Managing executive travel arrangements and registrations.
- Performing other duties and supporting special County Administration-level projects requiring discretion and independent judgment.
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required- Relevant work experience and educational background.
- Ability to perform coordinating work involving guidelines, rules, and frequent problem-solving.
- Strong attention to accuracy and ability to work under pressure.
- Expertise in using common office software applications and ability to learn financial and human resources functions in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
