  • Research, select and specify the correct power transmission method for the application.
  • Coordinate all phases of mechanical engineering projects from concept, scope, development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.
  • Evaluate equipment design to ensure it is safe, reliable, repairable and cost efficient.
  • Optimize design for cost, quality and manufacturability.
  • Research and solve complex technical problems either independently or by conferring with internal colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively within project teams consisting of clients, electrical and design process engineers, control system programmers and manufacturing to deliver a completed project to the customer.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in selected technical areas and act as a resource for others in the Department.
  • Perform stress, strain, and deflection calculations on a variety of equipment designs.
