Position Overview:

The Equipment Operator will work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for the safe and efficient operation and preservation of equipment utilized for the purpose of tasks related to the use of aircraft de-icing fluid (ADF), including Lavatory fluid, Glycol Recovery Vehicles and Processing/Distillation Equipment, while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

Abide by procedural handbooks of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), safety manual, operational plans and management direction to ensure all work is performed according to defined specifications and/or regulations;

Ensure compliance with all government legislation related to labor, health and safety, regulations and policies;

Preserve the Company's reputation through professional and cooperative interactions with external stakeholders including the airport authority, security personnel and the public;

Perform daily equipment inspections utilizing appropriate checklists and other forms;

Perform and maintain records of light maintenance tasks on equipment and immediately report any repair requirements;

Regularly and proactively inspect, maintain and monitor equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and report all issues and inconsistencies to on-duty lead and/or manager;

Distribute daily workload to team members;

Knowledgeable of current industrial safety practices and industrial hygiene and of non-hazardous waste treatment, storage, and reprocessing operations.;

Participates in site evaluations and prepares inclusive quotes that include: scopes of work, price estimates and contingencies;

Makes recommendations for improvement in workflow and project management;

Works with governmental and regulatory agencies and maintains community relations;

Ensures operations are properly staffed and personnel are properly trained;

Ability to work under pressure, exercise independent judgment and select effective course of action while controlling resources and expenditures;

Performs sample testing and lab work, and executes chemical treatment required to meet discharge limitations;

Loads and unloads bulk and containerized materials using light equipment;

Operates chemical process equipment, filter presses, and filtration systems;

Performs daily inspections of facility and storage tanks;

Processes inbound and outbound paperwork including customer manifests;

Operates equipment to empty oil drums and transfer solids and fluids to storage tanks;

Manage solids and chemical treated fluids in storage facility;

Performs general housekeeping, including cleaning tanks, and maintenance of equipment and site management;

Collects fluid from designated customer areas for reprocessing;

Participate in all required safety meetings and conducts all business activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures;

Ensure all employees are working in the most productive and cost-effective manner to complete the assigned job/task in the best interest of company profitability;

Adapt to ever changing conditions (customer requirements, time schedules, weather, etc.) to see that assignments are completed to customer satisfaction and in the best interest of Company;

Provides service to all customers that meets or exceeds customer expectations with regard to the entire customer experience.

Accurate completion of all associated paperwork and log books;

Work cooperatively with all team members and external stakeholders involved in the completion of assigned duties;

Use all required personal protective equipment appropriate for specific tasks;

Maintain a clean, safe and hazard-free workplace at all times;

Ad-hoc assignments as requested by on-duty lead and/or manager;

General labor duties as assigned;

Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Required Skills and Experience:

Must be at least 18 years old;

High school diploma or equivalent;

Successful completion of all classroom and on-the-job training;

Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English;

Ability to interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals;

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals;

Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent;

Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations;

Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills;

Must be detail oriented and possess technical aptitude;

Ability to work under pressure, exercise independent judgment and select effective course of action while controlling resources and expenditures;

Ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle in inclement weather;

Basic knowledge of aircraft and how they perform;

General mechanical competence and ability to effectively use hand tools;

Driving record that meets Company insurance standards;

Ability to maintain a positive, good-natured attitude;

Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints.

Certifications/Licenses:

Valid driver's license or CDL class B drivers';

Driving record that meets Company insurance standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

Exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time;

Elevated noise levels;

Working at heights up to 35 feet;

Confined space for extended periods of time;

Exposure to moving mechanical parts;

Exposure to fumes, airborne particles and vibration;

Flexibility required as position may require shifts worked in mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays;

Regular attendance and punctuality are required.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in a confined space for extended periods of time;

Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and twenty (20) pounds frequently;

Standing for extended periods of time as well as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, sitting for extended periods, using hands and fingers to control tools, feel objects and operate controls, reaching with hands and arms, speaking and hearing efficiently;

Must have the ability to climb 15-foot heights for work;

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus;

Must speak clearly and be able to hear and comprehend instructions;

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form;

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The schedule will be agreed upon with the Manager and/or Supervisor upon hire;

Multiple employees fulfill the job requirements in a team environment. Positions may be full-time or

part-time and are mostly seasonal with increased hours probable between October 1 and April 30. Hours of work are weather-dependent and determined by operational requirements. Some employees may be employed casually/on-call.

Travel:

No travel is anticipated in this position.

Security Clearance:

The ability to continue to hold Transportation Security Clearance and pre-employment drug screen;

Ability to pass pre-employment background screenings.
