Job description

Covenant Christian Academy offers a Christian and Classical education that builds students’ academic, spiritual, and social foundations for lives marked by leadership and service in today’s global community. A Covenant education prepares students to excel in collegiate studies and intellectual pursuits, nurtures Christian faith and character, and fosters individual gifts and abilities.


Covenant Christian Academy is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced Payroll and Human Resources Support Specialist to support payroll, benefits administration, employee onboarding, and HR compliance processes. This is a part-time, hourly position of approximately 5–10 hours per week, with the majority of the work able to be completed remotely, though occasional in-person check-ins or tasks may be required.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, trustworthy with confidential information, comfortable working with payroll and benefit systems, and committed to supporting CCA’s mission and employees with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and process bi-weekly payroll by the required payroll deadline
  • Reconcile monthly benefit carrier bills
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll and benefit-related questions
  • Serve as the primary contact for benefit carriers
  • Support and help manage the annual open enrollment process
  • Post open positions and assist with writing job descriptions, as needed
  • Create and maintain new hire files
  • Assist with issuing offer letters and contracts, as needed
  • Process new employees in ReadyPay and prepare required payroll paperwork
  • Assist with the internal onboarding workflow for new hires
  • Support HR compliance efforts, including maintaining required documentation, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with outside HR support as needed
  • Assist with the year-end compliance checklist and W-2/1099 distribution
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all payroll, benefits, and employee-related matters

Qualifications of the successful candidate will include:

  • A mature Christian faith and support for the mission of Covenant Christian Academy
  • Prior experience with payroll, human resources, benefits administration, or related administrative work
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Comfort learning and using payroll, benefits, and HR-related systems
  • Ability to work independently and meet recurring deadlines
  • Prior experience with ReadyPay or a similar payroll system preferred

This is a part-time, hourly position requiring approximately 5–10 hours per week. The work may be completed primarily from home, with occasional on-campus meetings or tasks as needed.

Contract runs: July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027

Compensation: $30-35/hour
