Job description

 
We are the national premier boat building company for the recreation industry. Our boats are built tough, and our welds are first class. Our specialty is bay, bass, walleye, salmon, duck hunting and crappie fishing boats.  We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and growth-minded individuals who will be excited to work in a team environment and build the best boats in the industry. We take great pride in what we do and look to hire those who will do the same. 
We are currently seeking JIG welders to assist in building the core structure of hulls. 
  • Build and weld all boat models to specification.
  • Responsible installing ribs, gunwales and bow cap.
  • Install and weld subfloor, hull bracing, foam bulkheads and hoses within allotted time.
  • Set up a welder and operate it efficiently without supervision.
  • Capable of reading cut lists and cut extrusions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills
 
  • Read a tape measure, understand fractions, simple math-addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
  • Capable of using basic hand tools.
  • Maintain connection and communication among other employees and management.
  • Attention to detail is required to ensure high quality and safety.
  • Lead by example; build a team that can rely on each other and can function if the supervisor is not there. Train each employee in your department to do your job if you are not there. Be competitive with the rest of the factory and do better than yesterday every day. Be a role model for others: have a positive attitude, keep your area and tools clean and organized, encourage your team.

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Capable of standing all day, not sitting down on job; repetitive use of hands and arms; ability to walk, climb, balance, twist, turn, grasp, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May need to work intermittently from a ladder.
  • Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently. When bending hulls, need to be able to lift/move upward of 75 pounds, or 250 pounds collectively. Capable of lifting 50-75 pounds over the shoulder and outward frequently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Great socialization and communication with management, other departments, and coworkers.
  • High school or GED graduate preferred.
  • Fabrication experience is preferred.
