Job description

The Evidence Mgmt Associate will work as part of a dynamic team that provides clerical and organizational support for client projects. This person will be responsible for executing standard operating procedures that align with company as well as industry guidelines and best practices pertaining to evidence management. To provide the highest level of client service to both external and internal customers, said procedures will include but are not limited to receiving and maintaining an inventory of client media, providing status updates, generating reports, documentation, metrics gathering, and data analysis.


  • Receive all incoming physical evidence from clients or third parties and initiate Chain of Custody records.
  • Upload and download client data from internal and external servers ensuring proper archival backups are completed.
  • Track evidence through hard copy Chain of Custody records when required.
  • Manage onsite and offsite storage of all evidence.
  • Maintain highly organized and secure evidence room.
  • Transfer evidence when requested.
  • Assist with quality control of outgoing reports and client deliverables.
  • Learn to use applications including 3rd party forensic tools, encryption utilities, industry standard eDiscovery applications, data recovery tools, and other proprietary software.
  • Work closely with internal legal consulting, operations, development, and accounting departments to verify customer billing, providing information as needed.
  • Work across functions with peers in other groups to ensure collaboration for shared goals.
  • Participate in evidence destruction requests in accordance with company policies, ensuring destruction documentation and authorizations are complete and accurate.
  • Use ticketing system to track all tasks and time related to performing duties.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors or senior leadership.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree required or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • 0 - 2 years of progressively responsible experience in related roles

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
  • Must have valid passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States on extended stays.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software with a strong emphasis in Excel and Word.
  • Proven ability to learn and work with new software, including TreeSize, FastCopy, EnCase, FTK Imager, File Catalyst, Filezilla, VeraCrypt, and Beyond Compare
  • Experience working with physical media, including Internal Hard Drive, External USB Drives, Flash drives, CDs, DVDs, Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, and SD cards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced, highly productive environment.
  • Experience working with external customers.
  • Candidates with previous experience in the legal industry, litigation support, or information technology systems are preferred.
  • Proven skills in multi-tasking, time management, and working independently are a must.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate superior organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in high pressure situations.
  • Understanding of different Operating Systems (Linux, MAC, Windows).
  • May be required to maintain on-call communication for after-hours customer and management contact (PDA communication device would be provided if necessary).
  • May be required to lift and transport multiple boxes weighing up to 35 pounds each.
