Department OverviewThe System Design & Implementation Team is a segment of Motorola Solutions' Video business. Our team focuses on designing, and deploying body cameras, in-car video systems, and digital evidence management systems (backend software) for Government and Public Safety customers.
Job Description

The Sr Engineer - Systems Design & Implementation will serve as the primary technical leader and solution owner for the implementation of complex public safety software, including body cameras, in-car video, and real-time command center systems. This role requires an expert engineer who can bridge the gap between high-level system design and on-site deployment, ensuring seamless integration of wireless infrastructure and evidence management solutions for our critical public safety clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement body cameras, in-car video systems, digital evidence management systems, and real time command center software.

  • Responsible for being the technical solution owner of a project.

  • Provide system as-built documentation.

  • Identify interface requirements and solicit system implementation team for design

  • Conduct customer facing technical requirements discovery sessions for system configuration (Conference Call or In Person)

  • Builds relationships with sales, project managers, internal engineering, product, and key technical subject matter expert teams within the organization

  • Ability to provide customer product training (both in-person and virtual)

  • Survey, design, install and maintain the infrastructure supporting wireless communications systems at Client site

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of Public Safety software application system implementation experience

  • Computer hardware sizing, configuration and implementation experience

  • TCP/IP computer networking and design experience (wired and wireless)

  • Ability to pass a background check and/or security clearance for a customer as necessary

  • LTE Network Modem/Router background

  • Technical writing experience and the ability to deliver technical information to a nontechnical audience

  • Basic knowledge of Radio Voice Communications Networks

  • Basic knowledge of Motorola Solutions Public Safety Applications

  • Knowledge of Public Safety operations

  • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 - 100,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of Engineering, IT, Public Safety, and/or Military experience OR 8+ years of Engineering, IT, Public Safety, and/or Military experience

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
