JOB SUMMARY

Special Events staff for the Pumpkin Days and Hay Maze Event beginning September through the end of October. Must have excellent customer service and communications skills. We are looking for motivated, reliable, people-friendly staff in the following areas: setup of hay maze, ticket takers, cashiers, cow train drivers, and tour guides. 

Event starts Sept 25th and goes through October 31st

Event Hours: 

Mon-Thurs 4pm-8pm

Friday-Sat 9am-9pm

Sunday 9am-4pm. 

UEA hours Oct 8-9 and 15-16 are 10am-8pm. 

Pumpkin Patch/daytime drivers - need weekday help for shifts 9am-2pm.

This is an outdoor position and applicant must be prepared to work in all weather conditions: rain, sun, wind, or snow. Ensures safety of farm and program and provides excellent customer service. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of hire.

Other minimum qualifications may be required depending on the exact position under this title.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Setup of hay maze, drives the cow train and/or wagon, light farming, ticket takers, and cashier.

  • Conducts and actively participates in scheduled recreational activities.
  • Monitors outdoor areas as assigned.
  • Oversees children and adult participants.
  • Operates cash register, handles money, reconcile end of shift sales.
  • Ensures customers receive outstanding service. Greets visitors, provides directions and other pertinent information.
  • Provides immediate notification to supervisory staff of mechanical problems, personnel issues, customer concerns and safety hazards.
  • Monitors safety of farm and program environment.
  • Enforces rules and regulations of farm, programs, activities, and events.

TEMPORARY POSITIONS:

An "At Will", FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month. 

  • Must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.
  • Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
  • Are not considered merit employees.
  • Are "at will" employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing.
