Job description

Job Summary
Responsible for coordination of special events involving philanthropy. Provides fundraising and event management consultation, donor group and hospital liaison, and arrangements for check presentations, hospital tours and some public relations. Initiates new fundraising program ideas; executes financial planning of resources to support the operating plan; ensures appropriate revenue: expense ratios and follows up on event results. All activities are geared to enhancing the philanthropic community's positive relationship with Prisma Health and maximizing the funds raised and received.
Essential Functions
  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
  • Coordinates all philanthropic special events, this includes, but is not limited to, CMN related events, annual giving events, appreciation events, and third-party events, and connection point meetings. Event coordination includes logistics of the event, budgeting and tracking of expenses, etc.
  • Coordinates the database for special events and act as a liaison with the major and annual gift officers. Assists in the identification and cultivation of mid-level and major gift donors/prospects. Works with outside organizations to obtain necessary lists for invitations to events, etc.
  • Determines feasibility of new third-party special events with input from the Manager, Foundation (OMH) and other appropriate staff. Provides initial contact with groups or individuals who are planning an event and obtains necessary information, to include the department's third-party agreement form, etc. Provides consultation, promotional materials, logos, etc. for management of their events. Arranges and/or attends check presentations.
  • Provides management with event statistics, including charts and tables where appropriate; maintains updated calendar of events and provides details as required. Evaluates all philanthropic events for appropriate return on investment in accordance with the department's policy and determines sustainability of events in the future.
  • Works with the Annual Giving team and the Stewardship Coordinator to determine appropriate follow up for special event donors to include pre-event communication, event wrap up, thank you, stewardship, etc. Create plans to move special event donors to consecutive annual giving donors as well as identify major gift donor prospects.
  • Responsible for developing sponsorship packages for Prisma Health philanthropic special events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication or related field of study.
  • Experience - Five (5) years of experience in developing, planning and managing special events, marketing or public relations experience or closely related activity. Experience working in a non-profit organization preferred.
