Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations & Security and Assistant Director of Operations, the Fall Events Intern will assist with the execution of Arizona Fall League games and special events at Salt River Fields. This position provides hands-on experience in sports and event operations, guest services management, event logistics, and game presentation.

The selected candidate will play an active role in supporting Arizona Fall League game operations, as well as the planning and execution of various fall events hosted at Salt River Fields, including festivals, corporate functions, and other large-scale special events.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with the execution of Arizona Fall League games, including game-day operations, guest services, and event logistics.
  • Support the scheduling and supervision of Guest Services staff for Arizona Fall League games and special events.
  • Assist in managing Guest Services personnel during Arizona Fall League games and fall events.
  • Support event operations for festivals, corporate functions, and other large-scale special events hosted at Salt River Fields.
  • Coordinate event setup and breakdown, including signage, equipment, tables, chairs, barricades, and other operational needs.
  • Assist with in-game presentation and game-day entertainment elements.
  • Work closely with multiple departments, including Operations, Security, Production, Grounds, and Events.
  • Ensure guests receive exceptional customer service by assisting with guest inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations & Security and Assistant Director of Operations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a high-energy environment.
  • Public speaking experience is a plus.
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy objects (such as 8-foot tables) and standing or walking for extended periods.

Schedule and Time Commitment

  • Internship begins in October and concludes in December.
  • Schedule will vary based on Arizona Fall League games and the event calendar.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Approximately 20–35 hours per week depending on the event schedule.

Qualifications

  • Must be available from October through December with a minimal class schedule.
  • Actively pursuing a degree or a postgraduate with a completed degree.
  • Desire to pursue a career in sports or event management.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to assist across multiple departments.
  • Guest services, event operations, or customer service experience is preferred.
