Job description

The Student Campus Events Assistant supports the University Advancement Office by assisting with campus events and providing administrative support. This position requires flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to work independently and as part of a team. Approximately 75% of the position involves event setup, teardown, and on-site event support, while the remaining 25% consists of administrative tasks completed during regular business hours.
Responsibilities:
Event Setup & Support
  • Set up and tear down tables, chairs, linens, signage, décor, and event equipment.
  • Arrange event spaces according to event needs and ensure spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready.
  • Transport event supplies between storage and event locations.
Event Assistance
  • Serve as an on-site representative for the Advancement Office during campus and external events.
  • Greet vendors and guests and assist with event-related questions or needs.
  • Help monitor event spaces and communicate any issues to the Events Coordinator.
Administrative & Advancement Support
  • Assist with data entry, filing, mailings, and other office tasks.
  • Support alumni and advancement events through preparation, decorating, auction support, and day-of logistics.
Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time
