Job description

The Canadian Cancer Society is hosting its second annual North Shore Daffodil Dash. This family fun event is looking for active, organized volunteers to join our team to make this event a success. A successful committee member is skilled in areas such as marketing, sponsorship, participant recruitment, logistics, and volunteer coordination.

With the guidance and support of past committee members and staff partners at the Canadian Cancer Society, the committee will plan and execute this engaging event. We are looking for people with strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience in planning and coordinating event logistics, networking skills, sales and fundraising skills, as well as an ability to meet deadlines and multitask. Volunteers are critical to our accomplishments and we wouldn't be able to support, inform and empower those touched by cancer without you.

Event Chair This individual will work with the other committee members to maximize Daffodil Dash event potential and perceived value within the community. They will help establish a local timeline and tactics to ensure event success; track event progress; and provide coaching and support to other committee members. The Event Chair will collaborate with the staff partner, other committee and sub-committee members to set event goals and implement execution plans to achieve these goals.

This person will also serve as event spokesperson in the community - at public events and through media.
