Job Summary
Clayton State University seeks an experienced, customer-focused Audiovisual Professional Lead to support the University's technology-enabled learning, collaboration, and event environments. Reporting to the Audiovisual Services Manager, this position serves as a key member of The Tech Hub within the Division of Information and Technology Services.
The Audiovisual Professional Lead plays a vital role in supporting classroom technologies, conference spaces, event venues, collaboration tools, and digital media systems across campus. This position provides technical expertise in the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continual enhancement of audiovisual technologies. The role is responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of AV systems while delivering exceptional service and support to students, faculty, staff, and campus guests.
Responsibilities
Audiovisual Systems Support
- Install, configure, maintain, repair, and upgrade audiovisual systems used in classrooms, conference rooms, event venues, and other University facilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network connectivity, and system integration issues affecting audiovisual services and user experiences.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, functionality, and overall user satisfaction.
- Maintain audiovisual equipment inventories, asset records, technical standards, and operational documentation.
Event Production & Technology Services
- Provide technical support for commencement ceremonies, orientation programs, conferences, presentations, campus events, and other signature University functions.
- Coordinate, manage, and operate audiovisual technologies that support in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.
- Support video streaming, recording, webcast production, and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Teams Live Events, YouTube Studio, and related technologies.
- Ensure the successful setup, operation, and teardown of event technology while maintaining a high standard of service and professionalism.
Technology Lifecycle Management
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of audiovisual technology standards and lifecycle replacement strategies.
- Maintain comprehensive inventories of audiovisual assets and associated technology resources.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance teaching, learning, collaboration, operational effectiveness, and the overall customer experience.
Service Management & Documentation
- Utilize ServiceNow or comparable service management platforms to manage incidents, service requests, work orders, and daily operational activities.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to resolve technical issues and ensure service continuity.
- Participate in root cause analyses, post-incident reviews, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, support procedures, and end-user reference materials.
Training & Customer Engagement
- Develop and deliver technology training, instructional materials, workshops, and orientation sessions for faculty and staff.
- Promote the effective use of classroom, meeting room, and collaboration technologies through consultation and user support.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive communication, technical expertise, and a commitment to service excellence.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with ITS colleagues and campus stakeholders to enhance technology-enabled teaching, learning, collaboration, and engagement environments.
- Ensure compliance with University System of Georgia policies, Clayton State University standards, and ITS operational procedures.
- Support strategic technology initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, Media Technology, Communications, Electronics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
- Experience supporting audiovisual technologies in higher education, corporate, enterprise, or event production environments.
- Experience using ServiceNow or a comparable IT Service Management (ITSM) platform.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and related collaboration technologies.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and service excellence.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic support environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Understanding of networked audiovisual systems and support methodologies.
- Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Crestron certification or a comparable audiovisual industry certification.
- Experience supporting higher education classroom technologies.
- Experience supporting hybrid and virtual event environments.
- Experience supporting customer-facing technology services in a complex organizational environment.

Work Schedule
- Monday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Position requires regular on-site presence.
- Limited evening and weekend work may be required to support commencement ceremonies, orientation programs, special events, technology implementations, and operational needs.
- Availability for emergency support and critical operational activities, as necessary, to maintain service continuity.
- This position is not eligible for remote work.
