Job description

Your Role:
Stage event supplies and materials at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) warehouses. Receive, count, track, fix, stage, pack, and ship materials and supplies. Operate a forklift and pallet jack. Organize MobilePack™ and MarketPlace materials, load and unload shipments, and track inventory movement. Maintain warehouse safety and uphold personnel and food safety policies and procedures.
Pay, Schedule & Benefits:
  • This is a casual part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. This is not a seasonal position.
  • Starting pay is $22 to $22.50 per hour.
  • Schedule is on-demand. Required to work 5-20 hours per month, pending your availability and FMSC's need. Work schedule includes weekdays.
  • Expected to pick up at least one shift per month. Quarterly training meetings are required.
  • Benefits include paid sick leave.
What You'll Do:
  • Orchestrate the orderly staging, distribution, and receipt of MobilePack™ event materials. Identify, pull, pack, crate, load, secure, and track equipment and supplies.
  • Manage MarketPlace staging and inventory, ensuring accurate product presentation and availability.
  • Load and unload shipments and organize inventory using a powered industrial forklift and pallet jack. Training provided.
  • Maintain inventory and communicate event information via software systems and paperwork.
    • Track inventory movements, update software systems, communicate event information via email, maintain Bills of Lading, and ensure all material handling is properly documented, labeled, and organized.
  • Arrange for or perform cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of equipment and supplies according to safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect all inbound ingredient deliveries. Report any irregularities and place items on hold. Generate and track lot tags for incoming ingredients.
  • Maintain the efficient use of warehouse space while juggling inbound and outbound shipments of ingredients, finished product, MobilePack™ event supplies and co-packer materials.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve material return issues. Collaborate on improvement projects.
  • Maintain a safe and organized warehouse area.
  • Understand, follow, and enforce food and personnel safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications:
  • Passionate about FMSC's Christian mission and living it out in the workplace.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Able to work independently and prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Takes initiative to identify and solve problems. Responsible and able to use good judgment and discretion.
  • Able to maintain energy and stamina during 4-8 hour shifts with nearly continual standing and walking.
  • Able to push, pull, lift 30-50 lbs. repeatedly, bend, twist, and use tools like screwdriver, hammer, drill, etc.
  • Able to operate a forklift and pallet jack. Training provided.
  • Able to learn and operate computer systems and applications.
  • Respect and value FMSC's volunteers and supporters, varying in beliefs, backgrounds, and abilities.
  • Flexible availability preferred (able to adjust work hours according to seasonal busy and slow periods).
  • Able to tolerate consistent exposure to soy (an allergen).
