Job Summary

POSITION: Staff Assistant – Office of Chair At-Large, Phyllis J. Randall

REPORTS TO: Chief of Staff to Chair At-Large, Phyllis J. Randall

PAY: $28.00 / Hour

AVERAGE HOURS PER WEEK: 25

The Staff Assistant to Chair At-Large, Phyllis J. Randall will assist the Office of the Chair At-Large in logistical, as well as legislative matters. The individual hired for this position will have strong organizational, writing, and problem-solving skills. The Staff Assistant will report to the Chief of Staff and assist the entire staff on projects that span a wide range of policy areas. Professional demeanor and discretion are paramount for this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Staff Assistant will:

  • Assist Executive Assistant in the following areas:
    • Provide rapid response to correspondence for inquiries
    • Make direct phone contact with stakeholders
    • Provide think-ahead/planning documents
    • Draft written correspondence
  • Assist Chair At-Large, Phyllis J. Randall at public-facing events
  • Create social media assets, including photos and videos
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the office and take pertinent notes
  • Assist in drafting the office newsletter
  • Assist with nominations for county advisory boards & commissions
  • Complete other duties as assigned
