Under the Direction of the Guest Services Supervisor, the part-time Usher is responsible for greeting and assisting guests, ensuring smooth crowd flow, and handling ticket-related tasks in creating a seamless and enjoyable experience for Allen County War Memorial Coliseum event attendees. This position is Not Covered as defined by The Board of Commissioners of the County of Allen Employee Handbook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Greet and welcome event attendees with a friendly and positive demeanor.
  • Provide information about the event, venue layout, and facilities.
  • Assist guests in finding their seats and address any inquiries they may have.
  • Monitor and manage crowd flow during entry, intermission, and exit periods.
  • Ensure compliance with venue policies and safety regulations.
  • Handle ticket verification and assist with any ticket-related issues.
  • Direct guests to the appropriate seating areas and facilities.
  • Collaborate with other event staff, including security, for coordinated efforts.
  • Relay important information, such as announcements or schedule changes, to attendees.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Has a general knowledge of the building and participates in all emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS:
The part-time Usher maintains frequent contact with other employees, promoters, exhibitors, vendors, clients and guests of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The part-time Usher operates in an environment that necessitates extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the day. The role requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and proficient use of a two-way radio for communication. Additionally, the Usher may be exposed to typical office conditions and noise levels, as well as unique environments like concerts, motorsports vehicle exhaust, extreme sound and lighting conditions, and occasional exposure to extreme heat and cold.
