Job description

As front-line representatives of Omaha Performing Arts, the Event Security team provides exceptional customer service and ensures every patron has a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience while attending events at Steelhouse Omaha, Holland Performing Arts Center, Orpheum, and Tenaska Center. The Security team performs a variety of duties while adhering to O-pa Core Values of Collaboration, Trust, Integrity, and Inclusion.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate walkthrough magnetometers, inspect any bags entering the facility, and ensure prohibited items do not make it inside the facility
  • Scan several different ticket types and direct any guests with ticketing issues to the management team OR a box office representative at Steelhouse
  • Promote upgraded experience opportunities to guests as they enter the facility
  • Help patrons navigate the building by being familiar with key locations within the facility
  • Perform ID checks and wristband patrons wanting to purchase alcohol as needed per event.
  • Monitor exit doors to prevent reentry and alcoholic beverages from leaving the venue
  • Work with other departments on closing procedures to ensure the building is clean, orderly and ready for the next event.
  • As a representative of O-pa, required to adhere to organizational policies, including Harassment Policy, Drug & Alcohol Policy, and Tobacco-Free Workplace Policy.
  • Play a leading role in emergency situations. Following training procedures to guide patrons to designated areas for shelter and evacuations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
  • Must have internet access for digital performance sign-up as well as a valid email account for digital correspondence
  • Must work well in a fast-paced team environment, while maintaining a degree of composure and professionalism.
  • Highly effective oral communication skills with a variety of patrons
  • Comfortable working for both indoor and outdoor venues.
  • Able to assist with large crowds safely and effectively
  • Must be at least 17 years of age

  • None

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
  • Requires acute hearing when providing patron service and advising of time constraints
  • Must be able to work in a loud and noisy environment
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Requires occasional walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping.
  • May be required to lift up to 10 pounds
  • All positions are contingent upon passing a background screen

Salary Description
$18.00/hour
