About the position

As a technical leader for NAMB's Events Team, you will provide AV production leadership and facility technology oversight for events at NAMB Headquarters and select national NAMB events. This role manages AV operator staffing and development, maintains and advances facility technology systems, and oversees digital asset management for event-related media. You'll serve as a key technical resource for the Events Team and ministry partners, offering expertise and solutions that enhance event experiences and support organizational objectives. This position may also consult with ministry partners on technology solutions for various ministry centers and properties as capacity allows.


Key Responsibilities

Event Technology Leadership & Production Operations

  • Lead planning, scheduling, and management of AV/lighting operators (staff and contractors) for on-campus and select off-site events
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate AVL operators for consistent technical excellence
  • Serve as lead technical operator for Alpharetta events and provide leadership for select off-site events

Facility Event Technology Oversight

  • Manage and maintain AV systems across campus meeting spaces and shared areas
  • Develop maintenance schedules and troubleshoot technology issues during building hours
  • Research emerging event technologies and recommend upgrades and capital improvements

Digital Asset Management

  • Develop and oversee systems for organizing event recordings, presentations, and media resources
  • Implement a structured catalogue for archiving and retrieving digital content

Event Production and Technical Operations

  • Lead setup, operation, and teardown of audio, video, lighting, and production technology
  • Support live streaming, hybrid event technology, and multimedia presentations
  • Test, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in real time

Event Support

  • Contribute to event planning, preparation, execution, and post-event evaluation
  • Partner with Event Leads and ministry partners to incorporate technical requirements into event planning

Stewardship Management

  • Forecast capital equipment needs and replacement schedules
  • Make cost-effective procurement recommendations and secure competitive bids

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Manage relationships with AV vendors, service providers, and contractors
  • Negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance, and maintain vendor records

Risk Management and Crisis Response

  • Identify technical risks and maintain backup equipment and redundancies
  • Serve as technical decision-maker during crisis situations and conduct post-event debriefs

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience in event audio/visual operation or similar required
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
