Job description

Immediate need for a talented Project Manager. This is a 12 Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in New York, NY (Hybrid). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $89 - $90/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:

  • The role is an equivalent Project Manager position with added experience and responsibilities that include formal project management training, experience with event management and hospitality management software (Systems include Cvent, Rain Focus, Swoogo, Bizzabo.), and enterprise software transition that included AI modeling and/or applied AI capabilities.
  • Project Leadership & Execution: Create and maintain detailed project plans. Manage the full lifecycle of the system replacement project, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Third party systems/event management systems: Systems include Cvent, Rain Focus, Swoogo, Bizzabo.
  • Agile & Scrum Facilitation: Act as the Agile Project Lead/Scrum Master, facilitating key project calls and meetings including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Stakeholder & Scope Management: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering, and manufacturing/operations teams to define project scope, objectives, and user stories. Document and socialize meeting notes, next steps, and watch items.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, potential roadblocks, and dependencies before they impact delivery.
  • Progress Tracking & Reporting: Prepare, maintain, and submit clear and concise activity/progress reports, tracking project velocity and burn-down metrics against milestones.
  • Methodology & Best Practices: Define, teach, and enforce robust project management practices, ensuring the team adheres to established Agile/Scrum standards. Application of AI principles will be key to success.
  • Relationship & Trust Building: Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment, promoting trust, open communication, and alignment among all project participants and sponsors.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all business decisions and project deliverables adhere to corporate compliance, reputation standards, and regulatory policies.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Must have skills: - Must have 5 years of experience.
  • Experience: 6 10 years of professional project management experience, preferably within a financial services, corporate, or highly regulated environment.
  • System Migration Expertise: Proven track record of successfully leading system replacement or software migration projects (specifically transitioning from third-party vendor packages to in-house custom builds). Direct experience with transitioning legacy platforms to AI first platforms will be a key success factor.
  • Agile/Scrum Mastery: Deep practical knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including experience managing backlogs, sprint planning, and agile metrics.
  • Certifications:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is strongly preferred.
  • Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP, or Safe) are highly desirable.
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • AI knowledge and practical experience highly desired.
  • Technical & Tool Proficiency: Proficient in project management and collaboration tools, including Jira, MS Project, Visio, and MS Office applications.
  • Soft Skills: Developed communication, diplomacy, and negotiation skills to guide, influence, and convince stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex, interdependent project issues.
  • Bachelor s/University degree required.
  • Master s degree preferred.
