Job description

Plano-Coudon is seeking a Sr Project Manager to join our Columbia MD office. The ideal candidate has 10 years of experience building projects between $10M - $30M, has both renovation and base building expertise, and is eager to build in a variety of markets. The Sr Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through close-out, ensuring projects are on schedule, within budget, and according to the highest standards of safety and quality. Manages one or more complex large projects simultaneously. Participates in business development activities and actively seeks out opportunities for new projects. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Construction Services

  • Provides comprehensive construction services as required by Owner Agreements to include providing excellent customer service and satisfaction; manages the clients' expectations for optimal success.
  • Ensure project controls are executed consistently and professionally, including accurately track project budgets and prepare forecasts; prepare and maintain project schedule; review and track submittals or delegate to a project engineer providing oversight to the project engineer to ensure proper completion, and manage project close out.
  • May manage 1 large project or multiple smaller projects.

Preconstruction / Estimating Services

  • Develop a comprehensive scope of work; negotiate with subcontractors to achieve strongest contract possible and develop subcontractor agreements; engage legal counsel as needed to review and comment on subcontractor modifications.
  • Prepare Owner Contracts and assist in negotiating the best possible terms.
  • Review onsite project set-up with Superintendent so all proper job site controls are in place, including an active Safety Program, professional office meeting job requirements, and a site logistics plan.

Other

  • Maintains awareness of and complies with P-C's Safety Program and Policies; ensures staff assigned to the projects observe all safety standards.
  • Participates in new business development activities to include outreach to peer groups, owners, architects, and engineers; follow up with current clients to solicit satisfaction with the team; attend networking events, pre-bid meetings, etc.; participate in writing of proposals as well as GC's and fee price proposals.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends, applies knowledge, and identifies opportunities for process improvement; participates in an industry related organization or events.
  • Network with clients, architects, and others to create and follow up on potential business leads and maintain existing client relationships.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or similar.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience within project management leading various types of projects and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage projects $10M - $25M, with interest in gaining experience building larger work.
  • Experience with Procore and P6 preferred.
