Position Posting: Planner / Project Manager (Terra Sonic)


Position Summary

Terra Sonic International is a rapidly growing company specializing in the dynamic and diverse sonic drilling industry. We are seeking a Planner / Project Manager to support our Assembly, Fabrication, and Machining, teams. The Planner / Project Manager contributes to the organization through planning the production of manufactured items and leading diverse manufacturing projects.


Responsibilities


Maintain manufacturing forecasts for drill rigs, tooling, sonic accessories, sonic heads, and sonic head repairs.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing department leaders to align capacity with demand.
  • Conduct analysis of "what-if" scenario analysis.


Monitor demand channels to ensure timely order fulfillment.

  • Customer orders, service orders, transfer orders to U.S. and Italian facilities.


Schedule production for drill rigs, sonic accessories, sonic heads, and sonic head repairs.

  • Communicate production status to the organization.


Quote manufacturing lead times for customer inquiries.

  • Evaluate current and planned manufacturing load.
  • Synchronize production activities across manufacturing departments.
  • Coordinate with purchasing personnel for raw materials and outside services.


Project Management

  • Lead manufacturing projects from conception through goal attainment.
  • Projects vary in size from continuous improvement initiatives to high visibility product reengineering.


Manage ERP work order costs for drill rigs, tooling, sonic accessories, sonic heads, and sonic head repairs.

  • Compare material, labor, overhead, and outside service cost estimates to actual work order costs.
  • Coordinate cost corrections and/or recommend review of labor standards.
  • Monitor the accumulation of labor hours on work orders.


Lead and/or contribute to continuous improvement projects.

  • Follow LSS principles to reduce waste, ensure quality, and improve overall performance.


Education and Experience

  • Prior experience working with ERP systems in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Preference for Apics CPIM certification or willingness to gain CPIM certification.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in business administration or related field.
  • Two or more years in a planning, scheduling, or project management role, or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
