Summary:
Position Summary
Thompson Central Park New York is seeking a highly organized, creative, and motivated Commercial Intern to support the Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Events, and Programming teams. This role provides exposure to all aspects of a commercial organization and plays an integral role in driving revenue, market share, guest engagement, brand awareness, and strategic partnerships across one of Hyatt's flagship lifestyle hotels.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support sales managers with prospecting, account research, proposals, contracts, site inspections, and client communications.
  • Assist with corporate, group, luxury, and leisure sales initiatives.
  • Coordinate client receptions, networking events, FAM trips, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Maintain account activity, production reports, and contact records within hotel systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and hotel departments to support successful program execution.
  • Assist with communications to operations teams as needed
Marketing & Partnerships
  • Assist with execution of marketing campaigns, promotions, seasonal offers, and strategic partnerships.
  • Coordinate marketing assets, presentations, collateral, photography, and content collection.
  • Support social media, public relations initiatives, influencer partnerships, and brand collaborations.
  • Track campaign performance and assist with reporting on marketing and partnership initiatives.
  • Research market trends, competitive activity, and new partnership opportunities.
Revenue Management & Commercial Reporting
  • Assist with preparation of daily, weekly, monthly commercial reports, presentations, and business reviews.
  • Support tracking of occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, pace, market share index, and account production trends.
  • Conduct competitive market research and gather industry intelligence.
  • Assist with negotiated account maintenance, corporate RFPs, forecasts, and budget preparation.
  • Support with actioning adjustments to rate loading, inventory management, selling strategies, and pricing
Programming & Activations
  • Support planning and execution of hotel programming, live entertainment, activations, sponsorships, and special events.
  • Coordinate vendors, talent, agencies, brand partners, guest lists, and event logistics.
  • Maintain programming calendars and partnership trackers.
  • Assist with post-event reporting and measurement of activation success.
Administrative & Project Support
  • Prepare reports, presentations, meeting materials, and commercial dashboards.
  • Maintain project timelines, calendars, contracts, and departmental correspondence.
  • Support invoice processing, vendor documentation, and administrative needs across the commercial team.
  • Participate in sales, marketing, revenue, programming, and operational meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or pursuing a degree) in Hospitality, Marketing, Business, Communications, Event Management, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Interest in hospitality sales, marketing, revenue strategy, partnerships, events, and lifestyle programming.
  • Experience with social media, Canva, CRM platforms, hotel systems (Envision, Opera, Delphi, Cvent, etc.), or event planning is a plus.
