Student Engagement & Event Services (SEES) Coordinator


Mount Mercy University, in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Student Engagement & Event Services (SEES) Coordinator to lead campus event services operations and support a vibrant student experience. This position provides oversight of university event planning, campus space scheduling, and student staff supervision within Student Engagement.


Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, this role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee planning and execution of campus events and programs
  • Manage scheduling and use of campus event spaces
  • Supervise, schedule, and train student employees
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal and external event clients
  • Coordinate logistics with campus partners (Public Safety, Facilities, IT, Catering, Communications & Marketing)
  • Manage event contracts, pricing decisions, and vendor relationships
  • Lead use of the Events Management System (EMS) and reporting tools
  • Support budgeting, revenue tracking, and resource planning
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and FERPA requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in higher education, event services, or student engagement
  • Experience planning or coordinating events
  • Familiarity with event technology or audio-visual systems
