Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Event Network Administrator with exceptional project coordination and documentation skills, critical thinking abilities, and a strong sense of ownership. In this role, you will play a crucial part in preparing, deploying, and maintaining network solutions for large-scale events where connectivity is critical. You will thrive on facing new challenges in diverse environments, be hands-on with every aspect of network setup, and be passionate about ensuring flawless network connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand how to read a topology and an event network design
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network-related issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Manage IP addressing schemes, subnets, and VLANs.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users for network-related issues.
  • Work with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues and coordinate upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field, or equivalent of 2+ years of hands-on network administration experience.
  • Proven experience as a network administrator or in a similar network-focused role.
  • Proficiency in network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software (e.g., network monitoring tools, firewall management).
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN, WLAN), and wireless networking standards (802.11 n/ac/ax/be)
  • Experience with network security practices (e.g., firewall configuration).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and support.

Preferred Skills:

  • Network Certifications like CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar
  • Wireless Certifications like CWNA, CWDP, or similar
  • Familiarity with network configurations and technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools like OpManager Plus, PRTG, Cisco Meraki, and Ekahau.
  • Experience in network performance analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Attitude: Curiosity and eagerness to tackle new challenges in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Ability to work remotely and travel on-site typically between 70 and 100 days per year.
