Summary

The Event Marketing Manager’s primary responsibility is to develop and execute marketing campaigns and promotional strategies to drive attendance, engagement and revenue for Lessiter Media live and virtual events.

Under the direction of the Brand Managers, this role is responsible for planning and deploying integrated inbound and outbound marketing efforts that grow event audiences and support the expansion of Lessiter Media’s Unified Audience Database.

The Event Marketing Manager will have primary responsibility for assigned events and will focus on both:

Audience Development: Building the top end of the event marketing funnel through strategic promotional initiatives designed to grow attendance, awareness and engagement. This includes webinars, podcasts, social media, content marketing, partnerships and digital audience acquisition programs.

Revenue Generation: Driving revenue through marketing initiatives that support paid registrations, sponsorship sales, exhibitor participation and related event products.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Event Campaign Development Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and promotional campaigns for conferences, trade shows, webinars and live or virtual events. Coordinate creation of marketing materials across all channels including email, video, print, web, digital advertising and social media. Work closely with the design team to ensure responsive, high-impact campaign execution and report results.
  • Registration Growth & Funnel Optimization Plan and manage marketing strategies to increase event registrations, attendance conversion rates and onsite engagement. Develop audience segmentation strategies and nurture campaigns to maximize response.
  • Testing, Analytics & Reporting Implement testing programs to optimize campaign performance. Analyze marketing data and provide actionable insights to leadership to improve event promotion effectiveness and ROI. Collaborate with the digital team to establish reporting standards and dashboards.
  • Content-Driven Event Promotion Partner with editorial and content teams to align content marketing initiatives with event promotion goals. Identify topic trends and content opportunities that drive event interest and participation.
  • Paid Event Marketing Plan and manage paid marketing strategies including PPC, social advertising, retargeting and search marketing to drive qualified event registrations.
  • Email Marketing & E-Newsletters Develop targeted email campaigns to promote event participation. Identify opportunities to grow event subscriber lists and enhance email engagement.
  • Social Media Strategy Work with digital and editorial teams to develop and implement event-focused social media campaigns that increase visibility, drive engagement and capture new audience contacts.
  • Partnerships & Industry Outreach Develop relationships with industry associations, media partners, sponsors, influencers and exhibitors to extend event reach and drive audience growth.
  • Event Budgeting & ROI Management Assist in development and management of event marketing budgets. Ensure campaigns are executed cost-effectively and on time while achieving attendance and revenue goals.
  • Event Web & Registration Platforms Manage event website content updates, landing page creation, registration workflows and promotional integration across digital platforms.
  • Public Relations & Event Visibility Support PR efforts to maximize exposure for Lessiter Media events, including press outreach, announcement distribution and industry promotion initiatives.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Self-motivated, goal-driven and team-oriented professional with strong work ethic

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience; event marketing or media industry experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of event marketing funnels, registration conversion and audience engagement strategies
  • Experience with integrated marketing campaigns including print, digital and experiential marketing
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms, CRM systems, analytics tools and social media marketing
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with design, editorial, sales and operations teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven event environments
  • Experience with database management, print production, fulfillment processes and marketing automation tools
