Position Overview


Kayenta Arts Foundation and the Center for the Arts at Kayenta are looking for a Marketing Associate to work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement marketing plans to promote and enhance the Center for the Arts brand, as a destination for adventurous performing arts events and experiences presented or produced by The Center for the Arts at Kayenta. 


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing Associate will support both Kayenta Arts Foundation and The Center for the Arts at Kayenta in reaching institutional and programmatic goals: 

  1. Implementing marketing communications programs to drive public engagement and support of both paid ticketed events and free public arts festivals; and 
  2. Developing strategies to reach new, diverse audiences, moving consumers from awareness to attendance and engagement, in sync with KAF’s mission to create an environment that fosters artistic endeavors for educational and cultural enrichment purposes.
  3. Helping the organization further define and develop its brand and generate increased awareness and recognition among key stakeholders, including, but not limited to, current and prospective guests and visitors, donors, board members, community members and partners, artists, presenting partners, and local government agencies. 
Responsibilities
  • Execute marketing tasks as assigned and designed, maintaining a shared tasks list in Asana, CFAK’s project management software
  • Gauge the impact and effectiveness of marketing plans against marketing goals using internal and external data sources
  • Oversee social media calendars and plans for all events
  • Work closely with the CFAK graphic designer to develop digital assets and printed collateral for promotion  
  • Collaborate closely with all members of the CFAK staff in marketing and development to ensure continuity in communications across the organization
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CFAK’s marketing vendors and partners
  • Participate in department and other staff meetings as requested
  • Additional duties may be assigned
Experience 
  • Background in marketing and/or communications, preferably in the arts or a related field, with a minimum of one year of experience in a professional work environment
  • Expertise in digital marketing and an understanding of the changing digital marketing landscape required
  • Experience in google ads preferred
  • Understanding of graphic design principles and processes
  • Proficiency in Google Office Suite (gmail, google sheets, drive, calendar, meet apps)
  • Demonstrates excellent writing skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively with a team
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Demonstrates a commitment to supporting artists and a creative community. 
Schedule

Weekly schedules are responsive to active program activities. 

This position requires 40 hours per week. All administrative work must be completed on site at the Center for the Arts at Kayenta. 


The Center’s administrative hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9am-6pm. 

Some nights and weekends may be required, aligning with events and productions.


Travel may be required for special projects and events. 


Compensation & Benefits

$18-$24 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience 

Hourly rates are objectively determined using a matrix that considers years of applicable experience with relevant qualifications, education, and training. 


Full time employees are eligible for accrued paid time off, sick pay, and paid holidays. 


Kayenta Arts Foundation offers an optional ICHRA, as well as an optional retirement savings plan.
