Position Summary
As a Special Events Worker, you will support customer service operations at various athletic and special events. Responsibilities may include ticket scanning, concession support, parking assistance, and other related duties. This is an on-call position, with assignments based on scheduled events such as basketball, football, baseball, soccer, track, and other activities held at athletic fields, stadiums, and similar venues.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Welcome guests, scan tickets at entry points, and assist with seat location and general inquires.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
  • Check tickets or passes for authenticity and access permissions.
  • Support guests with special needs, including assistance with seating accommodations
  • Provide emergency guidance and assist with venue evacuation procedures if necessary.
  • Verify staff credentials for access to restricted areas when required.
  • Offer directions and general assistance to guests both inside and outside the venue.
  • Assist with parking operations, including directing traffic, monitoring lots, and helping guests locate parking areas.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by event management.

Minimum Qualifications
Less than high school; no previous experience required.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced or public-facing environment
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

  • Basic knowledge of event or venue operations is a plus
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate lifting if needed
