Job Summary:

You are the team that executes the LP events. You adhere to pre-set timelines provided to ensure a quality event experience is had by all participants. You work independently of the main kitchen space so you must be well versed in per-planning and execution of banquet style events.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be on time and ready to work
  • Set up the kitchen space daily
  • Ensure Sani-buckets are set up and maintained throughout the shift and changed before service
  • Work clean and sanitize all counters before and after service
  • Review all resumes for the upcoming weeks and prepare for the events, keeping a focus on timelines and requirements to be successful
  • Added value food products according to the specifications provided
  • Maintain the quality that is expected from the Event Experience
  • Taste all foods and adjust before serving
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained daily or as needed. This will include Stoves, ovens, hoods, walls, floors, and windows
  • Provide staff meals for the Event Service/Kitchen Team as scheduled by the Event Manager (timeline provided)
  • Help dishwashers at all times (Full hands in, full hands out)
  • Be diligent in maintaining La Quinta as a historic building and place of employment
  • Treat the space with respect of the highest regard
  • Wash out and dry all sinks in the Commercial Kitchen and in La Quinta
  • Sweep and mop floors daily
  • Shut down and clean all equipment such as stoves, ovens, hoods, and gas appliances at the end of shift
  • Check out with Event Sous Chef before you leave

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate must possess experience in a kitchen environment and a farm-to-fork background
  • Knowledge to execute banquet events
  • Own and maintain appropriate knives for the job
  • Organized with an attention to detail, being self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, and consistently demonstrate the desire to be consistent
  • Able to work in a high-stress environment
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, and walk 8 to 10 hours a day
  • Able to grasp, lift, carry 50 lbs. in short intervals throughout the day
  • Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
