Catering Sales Manager


Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Catering Sales Manager to join our team. In this key role, you will drive revenue growth by soliciting, booking, and managing catering and banquet events, including corporate meetings, social gatherings, weddings, and conferences. Hilton experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate excels at building strong client relationships, negotiating contracts, and collaborating closely with Food & Beverage and Operations teams to ensure flawless event execution and exceptional guest satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities


  • Proactively solicit new and existing accounts through prospecting, networking, site tours, presentations, and targeted sales strategies to meet or exceed catering revenue goals and banquet space utilization targets.
  • Negotiate and close business for catering events, including proposals, contracts, menus, pricing, and concessions while maximizing profitability.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from initial inquiry through event conclusion, detailing events, preparing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and coordinating all specifications.
  • Partner closely with Food & Beverage (culinary, banquet, and beverage teams) and Operations (front office, housekeeping, engineering, etc.) to communicate event details, anticipate needs, manage changes, and deliver seamless execution.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings, site inspections, and post-event follow-ups to build repeat business and generate referrals.
  • Maintain accurate records in the hotel's sales and catering system (Delphi preferred), track leads, and prepare reports on sales performance.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to develop effective sales strategies and enhance service offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards (Hilton preferred), health/safety regulations, and client expectations for 100% satisfaction.
  • Support team efforts during high-volume periods and contribute to overall hotel revenue optimization.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 2โ€“4 years of experience in hotel catering sales, banquet sales, or related hospitality sales roles (Hilton brand experience strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets and building long-term client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of catering operations, menu planning, pricing strategies, and event coordination.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in sales/catering software (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, Opera, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed for events.
