Job description

Full-Time | Exempt
Performing Arts Center | Onsite/In-Person

Bring Events to Life in Sandy Springs

The City of Sandy Springs is looking for a talented, organized, and people-focused event professional to join the team at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. As a Rental Event Manager, you’ll be at the heart of some of the city’s most exciting events—turning client ideas into memorable experiences and making sure every detail comes together seamlessly.

From private celebrations and corporate events to performances, conferences, and community gatherings, you’ll work directly with clients, vendors, performers, and City teams to bring events from concept to completion. If you enjoy creating experiences, solving problems on the fly, building relationships, and seeing a plan come to life, this could be the opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for rental clients, guiding them through the planning and execution of their events.
  • Turn event concepts into detailed plans, timelines, floor plans, and production requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal City departments, vendors, contractors, caterers, and production teams to bring events together.
  • Manage contracts, estimates, invoices, settlements, budgets, and other event documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance events and increase revenue through venue rentals, catering, equipment, staffing, and other services.
  • Visit with clients and prospects to understand their vision and recommend spaces, services, and solutions that fit their needs.
  • Oversee event setup and execution and serve as Manager on Duty for assigned events.
  • Lead event and operations teams and help ensure events are delivered safely, professionally, and with exceptional customer service.
  • Troubleshoot challenges in real time and find creative, practical solutions when plans change.
  • Manage multiple events and priorities while keeping communication, organization, and attention to detail at the forefront.
What Makes You a Great Fit

You’re someone who can take a lot of moving pieces and make them feel effortless. You build relationships naturally, communicate clearly, stay calm when things change, and genuinely enjoy creating great experiences for others.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A high school diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience in event management, performing arts, convention centers, hospitality, or a related environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple events, deadlines, and client needs at the same time.
  • The ability to make sound decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, event production, arts administration, business, or a related field; experience with event management software, contracts, budgets, or settlements; and supervisory experience.

The Venue

City Springs and the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center offer an incredible variety of spaces and experiences, including the 1,100-seat Byers Theatre, 400-seat Studio Theatre, Conference Center, CityView Terrace, City Green, CityBar, and Entertainment Lawn at Heritage Sandy Springs.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a dynamic campus and help deliver everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale performances and major community events.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule based on event needs. The position regularly requires evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Why Join the City of Sandy Springs?

At Sandy Springs, you’ll have the opportunity to do meaningful work in a vibrant community while helping create experiences that bring people together.

Our employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that may include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Retirement benefits
  • Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Employee wellness and assistance programs
  • Tuition assistance
  • Additional voluntary benefits and employee programs
Ready to Make an Impact?

If you’re passionate about events, thrive on creating memorable experiences, and enjoy being the person who makes all the pieces come together, we’d love to see your application!
