HSS is seeking a Recreation Manager for our client located in the Ocean City, MD area.

We are seeking an experienced Recreation Manager, you will be responsible for the pool areas, fitness center, ice skating rink and game rooms, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep and cleanliness of said areas. You will work closely with recreations staff to carry out departmental strategies and achieve departmental goals. The position has active participation in the guest satisfaction and operational effectiveness. The Recreation Manager will review financial and operational information to achieve budgeted targets for labor, supplies, materials, and all other cost categories.

Key Responsibilities
* Supports day-to-day operations and understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence
* Inspects recreational areas for safety hazards and operational deficiencies, recommends improvements, and initiates corrective measures
* Responds to guest inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner
* Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes
* Provides and models service behavior to guests and employees
* Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance in areas of responsibility
* Develops, plans, organizes and supervises activities, events and programs
* Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish departmental goals
* Supports the management of any outside vendors
* Orders and manages necessary supplies and ensures staff has supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs
* Coordinates and manages activities by purchasing supplies and/or needed equipment
* Provides exceptional customer service and ensure guest satisfaction and retention
* Hires, trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates staff
* Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs
* Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaches, mentors, or otherwise helps others to improve their knowledge or skills
* Participates in the performance appraisal system process
* Ensuring compliance with, and fair administration of all departmental policies, standards and procedures
* Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably
* Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
* Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members
* Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with department employees and other hotel staff
* Ensures that disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed accordingly to the hotel's standards and procedures
* Ensures hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently
* Conducts weekly departmental meetings
* Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
* Communicates expectations and performance objectives to staff while giving staff the opportunity to raise questions and/or concerns
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills.
* Minimum of two years in Recreation Management or similar role.
* Displays leadership by exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guests and employees.
* Must be a team player who is willing to 'pitch-in' and help co- workers with their job duties.
* Should anticipate assisting other departments during the off season when operational demands are reduced.
Compensation

The pay range for this position is competitive and based on experience.

Additional compensation may include discretionary bonus opportunities.
